Shaved/Molded Hatch Complete
As i talked about on here before, i bought the car with a shaved hatch and rear section because it was in an accident and the person before me didnt have the money to get it pulled and fix it, so i didnt like the look of it so i did the same thing because...i didnt have the money to get the rear section pulled so the bumper and hatch work correctly. So I welded, fiberglassed, bondo'd and painted it. Finnaly done with the whole car. Now i just need a D-series engine to replace the one knockin in the engine bay. anyone?

i didnt get upclose pics of the yellow bumper because it was spider cracked everywhere, and on the 3rd pic down u can see where it cracked along with passenger side rear pannel.
i have never seen it done before. I would like to see some pics of how it turned out painted. So postem if u can find em.
to answer the question why?
well simply because i had never done anything like this before, it was my second time working with bondo and fiberglass. I had to change that back bumper out because it looked like ****. so one day over christmas break it was in my garage with some head work being done, so i decided to order new bumpers and tear into it, little did i know, the thing had been wrecked before and they just covered it up like i did.
now look at it from my perspective, you have a new rear bumper and a hatch that has to be welded back onto the car because the hinges were pushed so far in.
i couldnt have sold the car for more than a couple hundred. sure i could have parted it out and made a little more but i didnt have that type of time. and being a college student who dosnt have time for a job, i didnt exactly have the money to spend getting it pulled. so i had some fun with it....shoot me

Why wouldnt you keep a spare if your trunk. The excuse that the honda spare is too small, is pretty lame. A Rota only cost a $100 these days.

Not to diss you or anything...but as stated before, you can easily see the imperfections in the bondo. Now...when you can see them in the bondo when the car is just in primer....you defenitely need to work on your body work skills. That thing will look like **** once painted...

Why gut a daily driver ? This car is far from a race car which is the only reason to gut a car. Why didn't you also shave the key hole on the tailgate, seeing how you can't open it now. Also don't quit your day job to be a body man.
the window still works, the key hole is the only way to open the glass.
thats the second time ive ever worked with bondo, but in person its not as wavey as it looks in the pics, but im most def going to let the shop put the finnishing touches on it when time comes
turning it into a daily because im a poor collge student, who needs a car this summer and dosnt have any money. holla

You live and learn, why the hell is everyone *** raping him. I give him thumbs up for tackling it himself. It's not like the first time you do body work it's going to come out perfect. If that was the case everyone would have their own body shops. I'm sure more than half the people that posted never even touched bondo. Good luck w/ the car man, now go turbo it.
