Default how do u take off tint?

i heard of alot of ways to take it off, but i wanna know a way that would actually help? would heating the window with a iron through a paper bag work? or do i have to do it the hard way with a razor blade and soap? any advice would be great. peace

I tried the razor blade thing and it was horrible. I ended up getting the first layer off and the second layer was a bitch..

The best way I found was to get some goo remover of some sort, or even Windex. spray it on the window generously then cover with a plastic garbage bag. Let it soak for a while, in the sun if possible. Then remove the bag and you should be able to get a corner up using a blade then peel it off quite easily.

steam is the best way... I pulled my windows out and used an old iron because i didn't have any other way to get steam but it came off really easily.

If you have a steamer that will make the tint and glue just fall off. Other than that you are stuck with hours of endless scraping with a fazor blade. Good luck man

steam and you will not have cuts or sore fingers and it will take about half the time and effort. I promise.

EVERYONE STOP USING RAZOR BLADES!!!!

THERES AN EASY WAY TO REMOVE TINT!!!!!!

ok this is how you do it... you can literally take off tint like in one piece.
There are two good methods for removing tint. Steam (if your rich) and........... amonia(if your financially impaired).
go to the store and buy pure amonia. put it in a spray bottle. now get some big plastic bags like those black ones and cut it so its in nice big sheets. now spray the window you want to remove the tint from with lots of amonia nice and wet. then put amonia on one of the plastic bag sheets and lay it up against the window. cover up the entire window and make sure its still wet inbetween the plastic bag and the glass. let it sit in the sun and bake for like an hour. if you need to go back and apply more amonia then do so..

after the hour take off the bag. sometimes the tint will come off with the bag sometimes it wont. most likely it wont so just use a razor blade to peel up one of the corners of the tint and pull on the tint with your hands and it should start pulling off the window pretty easily and cleanly.... as you pull it might rip so just keep using a razor blade to lift up a corner and pull some more.... if you did it right you can get an entire window untinted in like one piece! but usually it comes off in like 2 or 3 big pieces....

anyways i took off my tint this way and it worked great. when your done use soap and water to clean the windows cause if your gona get it re tinted the new tint will have trouble staying on if you still have amonia on your windows.

Using the trash bag or steam is ur best bet. The razer blade is the worst method. Believe me...i work part time in a tint shop

also if you're stuck with goo residue,
use an old claybar,
it picks that stuff off real well and leaves the glass underneath streak free

Rent or borrow a steamer and get a razor blade. Very easy. For the back, just be careful in between the defrosters. Took me and a friend about a littler over an hour to mine.

All I had to do was lift up a little section with a razor blade and peel it off. As far as the glue **** left behind, use a big razor blade+glue gone.

never use a razor blade on the defrosters, you will damage them. Some window cleaner and steel wool will do the job.
