Anyone ever try Toluene in their fuel?
I used to use it as a tire softener, but it is very hard to get it now. Most counties in CA have banned it because it's carcinogenic. Yes, it is an effective octane booster though. I don't know what mixtures are required to yield a desired octane.

I've used it. It didn't seem to do much for me though, could have been because the only place I could buy it had them sitting on a rack in the sun. The labels were all faded...it'd probably had decomposed to water by the time I put it in my tank!
I ran like a half-gallon of Xylene to a tank of gas for awhile - it did feel better than CA "premium" but was a pain in the *** to find the stuff.
It's ridiculously hard to find over the counter nowadays. You need to be hooked up with a chemical supply company somehow.
I seem to remember it being 110 octane, but I'm only about 20% sure of that.

go to 76.com and do a search for their 100 octane pumps. I fill up a gallon or two of that stuff then fill the rest of my tank with 91.
