Default Advanced Timing

I have heard that advancing the timing to about 18-20 degrees will add some power. My questions are: has anyone noticed significant gains, if so how much. And is there any potential problems that could arise from doing this thanks.

Tested 16 degrees and 18 degrees on the dyno and 16 lost about 2 to 3 hp in vtec.

here, read this and decide for yourself. I'd say 1-2hp for free is pretty good gains, but the added bonus is the way the car feels livelier than the stock 16degrees. I have mine set at 18d... when I bought the car, used, it was set at 20d.

just remember... more is not better. you need to find what's right for your car and driving needs.
