Default IACV problem, cleaned it worked good then back to bad.... gimme some opinions

I have a 2000 Civic Coupe with a B16B motor works great except for when it gets warm the idle jumps from 1000rpms -> 1500rpms..... I figured out that it was def the IACV so i took it off yesterday and cleaned it entirely with brake cleaner and got out alot of black stuff put it back on worked great didnt jump in idle when warm at all for the whole day and when i started my car this morning drove a little and then it got warm and started doing it again.....

Anyone think its time for a new IACV????

Are all B series IACV's universal????

I think it's time to make sure your base idle is set to spec before throwing money at the problem.

I'm positive that most b and d series IACV's are the same. At lease d16z6, y7, y8, b16 etc... are the same. I have a 99 si IACV on my d16y7 with y8 IM swap.

Dude I had the same exact problem, I'd clean it and it would be fine for a few days, and then crap out. Finally I just replaced the IACV and everything's fine now.

im going to try and adjust the idle with the IACV plugged in like EE_Chris suggested.

if that doesnt work

i will put some dielectric grease on the connectors which i have already cleaned.
WHERE do i get dielectric grease from????

if that doesnt work

then ill prob just get a new/used one.....
Which is combatible with a B16B????

any more suggestions???

any auto parts store will have the grease - sometimes its just labeled "bulb grease" and in the same aisle as lighting
