Idk if this is a nooby question or not.
Hey guys I m doing a d16z6 swap in my rex and Im turboing it to I have a air research 42 trim turbo. thats wastegated at 8 psi . I was wondering what can the stock z6 internals handle as in how much boost. Ive heard the z6 connecting rods are farily weak. thanks guys
You can put in 400 psi or however much you want.
Its simply the power output that the engine can/cannot handle.
How much power can the stock engine handle? around 175-200 hp/tq

with the stock map sensor you can only boost about 10-11psi..Id say a safe number on that engine is around 200-225whp with good tuning..However recently a tuner got one to make over 300whp on the dyno,,and set it at 250whp for the street and it lasted..

what do yuo think about 10psi at the track?</TD></TR></TABLE>
You're focusing on the wrong part..You need to worry about the HP level..Im not sure what the hp level would be at 8psi and 10psi for your turbo..
