tranmission question...help me out*********

Default tranmission question...help me out*********

i have a si trans chillin in my gurage and it needs a new diff. i took the casing off and all but cant figure out how to get the gears off to get to the diff. a buddy of mine that has takin a honda trans apart once said to take the top nut off and it should all slide off but it didnt work....does enybody have eny pics on what to do...directions on doing it lol...help me out..THANKS!

this is difficult, if you can't figure out how to take it apart, you won't be able to get it back together properly. GET a HELMS or find a copy online, there's plenty.

Once the case is off dissassemble the shift fork mechanism (pull the little rod in the middle), once you've got the shift mechanism removed, the shift forks. mainshaft and countershaft all come off. DO NOT remove the top nut on the countershaft. You do not need to disassemble the shafts to get to the diff.

its easier than just about anything else ive ever done car. Most people just get intimidated and don't want to figure **** out. IT IS VERY SIMPLE JUST FIGURE IT OUT'

oh and theres 3 guides in the FAQ at the top of the forum.
