Just picked up an NRG engine damper. However, it isnt made for the DC application, so they provided me with the hybrid parts. I couldnt figure out a way to mount it, so i just improvised with what i got. This is how i mounted it... havent driven it yet so i dunno if there are any improvements or not. What do u guys think? Is the way i mounted it flawed?

I dont have a DC...
but heres what i think...
the way you have it mounted to your block looks ok?
if its mounted to your block - if its just mounted to your motormount it might not be that effective.
but dude - you should for sure rethink the other mount - its gonna rock your strut bar to pieces...
i would either drill into the shock tower and mount it or try and figure out a way to mount it to one of your strut tower bolts...
something stronger...
gluck

Thats where i wanted to mount it too.. the upper a arm bold. But the bracket woudnt work there and i eventually just used the strut bar mounting.

IT's mounted to the motor mount. Not sure if anything can be done to make it mount to the block. Thats the way the mount came. I cant even use both the mounting points, i couldnt only use one.

Can anybody explain what this thread has to do with suspension? I thought that was what we are supposed to talk about in here...
Can we get a lock please?

I was not aware that sway-bars, and traction bars were NOT suspension components. I sure learned somthing today (NOT). You still didn't explain what this has to do with suspension...
And I don't think I've ever read a thread in here about motor mounts, roll cages or chassis rigidity (unless somone askes that age old question, "which STB works best")...

the way it's mounted I figure it will take about a week before the mounts brake off.

bottom right, the second engine mount location is not being used. Both bolts on the motor mount should be used to keep the mount from twisting.
To me that engine mount looks like a SOHC mount, I would have expected the DOHC mounts to look more like this... http://www.sportcompactonly.co...l.jpg

I don't think someone with almost 2900 posts could be called a noob, especially be someone with 1/10th that. Drivetrain is different than suspension, that would be like posting an axle question but close enough. Honestly who gives a ****...

i felt the same way. i thought the mount they gave me did look kind've awkward. I guess i'll have to ask NRG to send me another mount.

i agree with Relic1
think about what it would be like if you did not have that strut bar, ya know?
after a quick search this is how i found it set up with a b18
i think that might give you a better idea of how its supposed to be setup.
(to others bickering about postcount and what belongs where, think before you type: is this gonna help the OP? as a matter of fact, the damper with help with power transfer and decrease wheelhop- which is directly related to the handling characteristics of a car in the holeshot)

Thanks for the pic. I know where it should be mounted, looks like i gotta modify the mount that goes on the upper LCA bolt. But the mount that goes on the actual mount is different though.
the damper will help, but poly mount inserts or even windoweld/marine poly filled lower torque mounts/rear lower mount would have achieved the same if not better and more effective. either method would help to a certain extent short of solid metal mounts.
