Default mini-me bouncing idle and rev limit

so i put a z6 head on my crx, and now im having some problems... when i start the car up, when the car idles, it bounces between 1k and 2k rpms. also, if i try driving the car, there is a rev limit at 3k. the engine/intake sounds pretty loud and vibrates quite a bit too. i still have the p6 ecu in and the a6 distributor. could that have anything to do with it?

What CELs you throwing? Sounds like bad ecu and or vacuum leak.

im not sure where they could be. there are a few things that could be screwing things up. we have the radiator line that should go through the TB just plugged it.

My leak was having a bad pcv valve. Spray fuel injection cleaner around to locate the source.

To me that sounds like a dead ecu.

I wouldn't count on just that. My obd1 conversion wasn't too bad though.

Same problem here with a d16y8. The idle bounces when it warms up and eventually seems tto "even out" I have checked every thing and am about to start just replacing everything. On Sunday I am going to talk to a a friend who has been to every honda training school there is hopefully he can point out wat it is. If you find anything let me know!

so then you think it's more than just the ecu? could that be the reason for the rev limit? hopefully i can figure this out soon. im at school, and i sent my dad a picture of the vacuum diagram so maybe he can check them

yea dude 99% sure its an ecu problem, do what he said and convert to obd-1 with a p28 ecu and maybe even get a z6 distributor, then just check, double, & triple check vaccum connections...good luck with your problem, maybe even try searching a little bit and find out what other people have done about this same thing..GL
