Default Axles ??

I am bringing a 97 R back from the dead(yard). Having troubles finding axles that work. The drivetrain I have is a bseries with a type r trans and set up for a 5 lug in a 92 hatch. It seems that the axles I have are to short. Ordered 98 gsr axles, nope same ones I already have. Are type r axles longer?? Is the half shaft different? Any advice is welcome. Thanks Matt

"bringing a 97 R back from the dead" is not the same as swapping an R motor into a hatch. youll have better luck in the Hybrid forum, or the search feature.

maybe your sentence structure needs some tuning. regardless, you will have better luck in the Hybrid forum. or go to autozone and get some reman bseries axles.

That's a good bet since they have had to develop a number of different axle designs that handle angle differences that might cause universal joint wear because motors have been swapped back and forth.

Another good possibility is http://www.raxles.com <--Marty the owner frequently answers the phone himself, and he's learned a lot the hard way. He could probably tell you right away what's wrong and what axles you need, and he probably has a couple of different strength versions in stock.
