Default Are HX coupes rare?

Was thinking of picking up another car for daily commuting, I'm partial to coupes and I couldn't help but notice that the HX coupes get better mileage than the other coupes, but on autotrader I didnt find any HX's anywhere. was it a rare model?

I got an HX about 2 years ago. Since then, I have probably only seen 10 other HXs around here. The good thing about HXs is they have power windows and locks, but no sunroof. But I don't like the look of sunroofs, I like slick top cars better. So if you want a coupe with power windows and locks but no sunroof, the HX is perfect since they didn't have a 96-00 LX coupe. Also, since they have VTEC-E, swapping other VTEC engines in is a little less difficult. The gas mileage doesn't hurt either.

Avoid the CVT model at all costs. Stick with the 5-speed manual.

um no, it literally has an infinite amount of gears.

The HX is awesome, I am doing a HX project. If I could have any 96-00 civic rightw now I would take a 99-00 silver HX coupe. If I didn't have that, I could get a 99-00 dx hatch, and then I'd put a hx motor in it, add hx wheels and put a hx emblem on it.

Aside from the d16b5 CNG (compressed natural gas) the d16y5 (stock hx) motor is my favorite honda d-series ever made.

WHATCHA KNOW ABOUT THE VTEC-E

hold out and get a HX and join me in my project that's in my sig, the d16y5 is where it's at.

I haven't heard too many bad things about the CVTs. But I have a 97 HX with a 5-speed and my friend had a 00 HX 5-speed and both transmissions went out at about 110,000 miles. Maybe just a coincidence, but neither were driven very hard.

Try sourcing a replacement when it blows. And not having a heart attack when you hear the price. And then the nightmare of a manual conversion to top it off . . .
