Hi,
I was pulling my valve stem seals out of my P72 head using vice grips (yes I know that was stupid). I finally managed to get it out in pieces but i fear I may have gouged/scratched the guides hole. It looks like a vice grip bite mark on the inside of the guide. Does the guide need to be replaced?

Obviously after discovering this i discontuned using the vice grips and ordered the real seal puller.

if it's gouged up you're gonna need to replace it. you would be best to leave it to a machine shop for the procedure
