Default Antenna question

<---searched

Okay I have a 00 GSR 2dr. My antenna stopped working yesterday. It is staying in the up position. I dont think the motor is burnt up because when I turn the car off I can hear it humming but the antenna wont go down. Is there some kind of clip or something that might have slipped? So I can fix it. I hate the antenna as it is but at least when the car is off the antenna is down so it looks better. TIA

this happened to me, but i just used a little water displacement 40 on it, and it worked fine, i guess mine got something stuck in there, so all it needed was a little lube

Same thing happened with my 99 LS about 2 weeks ago, I just uncliped the power clip. The noise was driving me crazy, and I pushed the antenna all the way down. Radio sounds the same, so I guess I don't really need it.

no problem man, also you can try an s2000 antenna, or get a cheap little black one from pep boys or something, i installed one on my friends teg, easy as pie, and no difference in sound, and you don't need the motor anymore. doesnt look to bad.

Well I have heard alot of people say that the reception got shitty when they put the S2K antenna on theirs. But each person/car/city is different

Okay I couln't figure out what was wrong with it, motor was fine, lube didn't help, so i pushed the antenna down and now I get shitty *** reception. Oh well looks better and I have tons of CD's. I might just try to find out more about the antenna that goes in the headliner or something.

There is a little plastic clip that just slides out. No problem.
