are there any aftermarket valve keepers or are stock just fine? I heard people say "damn those stock keepers" but i think they were actually referring to retainers. Who knows, thought id ask just to see

 

Manley and Ferrea as well as other companys make hardened machined keepers for Hondas.I know people have had problems with stockers and will only use aftermarket ones.

 

would you recommend them for 400whp goal?

 

I use them if the budget allows.If you have to turn 10k to make 400hp then yes.If you can do it at 8500 then no.

 

i think i have aftermarket keepers from my last built, i noticed they were more shiny/lustrous than the stockers i took out of my new head so now im thinking i should go back and put the others in... any way to determine if they are aftermarket?

i've always run stock...but only because i had no idea there was an aftermarket to them
