Your original motor was an SOHC VTEC engine. The y7 is a SOHC non VTEC engine. I'm not sure if you'll need a new ecu or not but more than likely you will.

I think there's a mod u can do to ur ECU to change a stock P28 to see if it does vtec or not, somebody else that knows ECU's will have to tell you for sure tho

Your stock engine is a 1.6L SOHC Vtec. I suggest you look for another Y8 motor. That motor is pretty easy to find. I personally would not swap a Y8 for a Y7 motor, but thats just me.

if your bottom end is all thats messed up, just put the old head, IM, TB, dizzy, and harness onto the new motor, and use the stock ecu. that would be the easiest way to do it. other than that you would need a differanct ecu. it wouldnt be hard to just swap the new one in, but you will be losing HP

It's not a p28, it's a p2p. The p28 is for the d16z6!
