Default Starting problems, won't start, eventually starts...

I've searched to no avail. It's a 96 civic EX stock.

Ok, so i turn the ignition and the fuel pump purges, lights come on in cluster, starter tries to turn over for a second, then nothing. Turn the key again, ECU and main relay click like crazy, sometimes just once. then nothing and the lights on the cluster get dim. Eventually it starts... It's random on how long it takes before it turns over.

Now here's the kicker, after it's started, if i shut it off, it starts right back up over and over again. It only does this after sitting for a while. I tested how long and the shortest it's taken was 3 hours.

ANY help would be apreciated!! I need to get rid of this starting ghost!!

If the starter will spin intermittently, try locating the smaller gauged black wire going to the starter. Pull the wire off the starter, get some pliers and pinch the terminal so it will have a tighter connection when slipped back onto the starter. If that doesn't work, the only other thing that I can think of is if you have an aftermarket alarm installed, the starter kill relay might be going bad.

Well, i gave that a check, it's on there nice and snug. I've never bothered it before. There is no aftermarket alarm installed. It's in a good mood right now and starts every time now. When i get off work it should give me problems. I'll post results, but i don't see why the ECU and Main relay click like they do?!

Maybe this will help, the first time it has done it to me was at one of those automatic car washes. I've never used one so i decided to see what a 6$ car wash was like. I turned the car off and the car wash started. After the wash ended i went to start up the car and above are the symptoms i got. Ever since then car has been acting up... BTW the car wash sucked...
