just bought a bolt on axle back muffler. it was 40 bucks so i grabbed it, its ractive (jdm or not it was cheap) its chrome finish and looks nice..but its loud as ***. anyways i change alter the sound of the muffler? hush it up a bit. and no im not buying a new muffler.

 

cut out a section of straight piping and replace with a resonator. that will be the only way unless it came with a silencer which i doubt....

 

You bought a crappy used axle back, axle backs always sound bad and ractive products are junky.

I guess as stated before adding a res or replacing yours would help but really its just a cruddy part.

 

ya i knew it 3was top of the line or anything..i bought it cuz i had 40 bucks and figured why not...give it a try. so put in another resonator? that will quiet it a bit?

 

also bought it cuz it wil be good for boost...its 2.5 inch piping. tuboing my hatch come next spring

 

Yeap, a resonator will work just fine, and also a new cat. if your cat. is old.

It will sound much more to your likeing if you add a resonator, and possibly a new cat.
