Default full catback or muffler???

i have the option of buying just a magnaflow or sebring muffler for 130$ or custom pipping from the cat to either of the two mufflers for 180$. i know that there are way better brands but i dont want to spend more than 2 bills on it because im saving up for the h22 swap Anyways does this sound like a good deal? How many hp do you think ill get out of the custom piping (2.5" i think) and the muffler? Will the custom exhaust make my car smoke more than it already does (not that much but still)? Are these mufflers any good? If you know of a better one let me know. Any input is much appreciated. Thanks in advance

full cat back is better than the axle back. axle bakc wont give you ANY hp. catback might give you like 2-5 hp, depending on temp ect..

i would go with the full cat-back system, never just the axle back or muffler.

but you have to consider a few things before getting the exhaust:

the stock cat diameter, will it mate to the new, larger piping
whether or not the pipe is mandrel bent or standard crimp bent (mandrel is better)
whether or not the size piping you get now will be good enough for the new motor you're saving for to swap in
also if the exhaust system will fit directly onto the car without modification
will it clear the control arms/bars etc in the rear

Cat-back, function over fashion.
