Default quick swap questions, wiring and cables. b18 crx

ok so the d15 is out, right now im just prepping the engine bay and the b18a1. i noticed that a lot of the connectors on the b18 wiring harness appeared different. i then tried to plug the resistor box into the b18s harness, no luck. im afriad that the firewall area harness connectors are not going to match up, they look different, but they also look like they MIGHT work. i also had a problem with the ecu, the one that came with the swap wouldn't work with my ecu harness, different plugs(its all obd1, was a pr4). i was able to trade that ecu for a pr4 that fit my harness so that problems solved.

im just wondering why this isn't as plug and play as people have been telling me. any one have some ideas?

the engine is out of a usdm 92 integra.
my car is a 88 crx hf.

ps should i use the 92 teg clutch cable and throttle cable?

tnx

Thats how it is when you put an obd1 engine in an obd0 car..If it was 90-91 b18a1 it would have been plug and play..

oh lol, im an idiot. i thought all cable tranny b18s were obd 0. i didn't know it was just 90-91. that sucks.

well i guess now i have a little more work to do haha. and something better to search. well if anyone has any tips for the conversion, feel free to post em. right now im of to the search button.

edit:

can i just use my hf harness on the b18, swap ecu(to obd0 b18 ecu), swap/adapt the distributor, and swap the injectors?

let me know if this will work. as far as i can tell it will, but your input is always helpful.

edit again: looks like i need an obd0 distributor. oh well

edit again.

should i just convert to obd1? will this be better in the future? as far as tuning etc will the conversion harness be worth it? i was looking at the rywire kit.

HF comes mpfi already..And you dont necessarily have to run obd0 injectors,,He can run obd1 injectors as long as he removes the resisotor box..

Yeah you keep your stock hf harness and convert it to obd1..Rywire does great work if thats what you wanted to go with...To stay obd0 you would need a obd0 distributor and ecu.....

after talking to ryan at rywire, he can have a conversion harness shipped to me tomorrow, shipiing should be quick too. thats the route im going to go. in the end it would almost cost the same price, but then i would be obd1 which i like better, seems like theres more support and im already familiar with it.

so i will be ordering the conversion harness tomorrow, ill swap my engine harness over to the b18, then i can drop her in, fire it up and go. ill be keeping the obd1 injectors and bypassing the resistor box, i might just combine both harness together to make it clean. ill also use the obd1 distributor, just re pin the harness to work.

thanks
