well my car has been smoking a lot, (fully built lsvtec with 3500 miles). i think this is the explaination for it.





i also noticed a small pool of oil in my vband adaptor the other day. looks to me that my oil seals are shot, too bad cus i dont have any shaft play... turbo does have a lot of miles though, i got it used and put over 20,000 on it

definitely time for a rebuild. do you use an oil restrictor?

didnt use one for a while. put one in when i got the block sleeved, ran it for about 3000 miles and then it broke off in the turbo when i took the manifold off to replace the hg last week. currently not using one

im shopping around for a new turbo. i need something larger to match the motor i just built anyway. i want the gt3076r, but **** thats way out of my current price rannge.

yep, only because i waited to build a motor cuz i knew that it could be trouble. i had less problems with a stock 200k mile ls setup than i did with 2 built lsvtec. i also broke a cam in half the other day. this is probably like god telling me to stop the car ****, pay off college and go buy a house
