96 JDM Type R Motor OBD1 or OBD2?

Actually, it's neither. However, it uses the sensors of an OBDI motor (minus a VTEC presure switch and EVAP purge valve). And the plug and chipset of the ECU is similar to a USDM OBDII ECU. But the ECU operates much like an OBDI ECU. And other than dealing with a different plug style and pinout, converting a car to use a JDM P73 is pretty much the same thing as converting a 1988-1991 car to use a 1992-1995 ECU.

so does this mean I still have to get a obd1 to obd2 conversion harness? or can I just use da harness on my 93 cx hatch which is an obd1? Ur help is very much appreciated. Thanx.
The intereface on the P73 ECU will be that of a OBD2A. 96-98 Civic, 96-99 Integra. So if you were to have a OBD1 car receiving the ITR swap, you'll need a harness adapter in order to run the P73 ECU.
