how can u tell if tranny is starting to go bad
i have a d16z6 it slips out of 2nd every now and then could this be the trans or the pin in the linkage it is not the correct pin someone who had it before me made a pin for it but it worked fine till about one week ago now sometimes it will fall oout of 2nd

never blame the synchros in a D series tranny.
popping out of second = countershaft bearing walking out of the case.
If you've tried holding it into second gear, you've hurt the 1-2 shifter fork also.
