Hey

alright a friend has a newer accord (7th gen i belive) but a 4 cylinder.

the car gave a code 2442 on OBDII reader

not too sure what it is but i've found these:

B2442 - "Intrusion Sensor Fault"
or
P2442 - "Secondary Air Injection System Switching Valve Stuck Open"

can somebody help in explaining which one it most likely is? I"m assuming the P2442.

Also, how do we go about fixing this error without spending loads of money at the stealership

i believe its a car from the states, and i was told that our canadian dealers wont service the car

so the whole warranty thing is out of the quesiton

 

I don't see anything for P2442. B codes are for the Multiplex Integrated Control System (MICS) But no code was listed for B2442. I have a 7th gen Helm manual, and they have no 2442, that I can find. Maybe re-check your numbers.

There is no 2442 in the 7th gen Helm manual. What year and model is this car?

 

p2422 maybe?

 

there are codes 24 and 42 but those are ABS codes ,,..

 

We need to know the exact year, engine and trans the car has. or just post the VIN #.
