Just watched the vid of him beating the CFT car last season (10.28@139). How in the hell does that car run that quick on 22 inch slicks? Has to be a quad stage boost controller or something. I just realized he ran that too shifting into 5th (of course). Im just wondering because my car always et's the best on 22's by about a tenth or two, but the 24.5's trap 3-4mph higher. Anyone know what setup he had as far as tranny, turbo, rev limit, boost controll? I would really love to know.

 

Well, back in those days the car only had a greddy boost controller with the remote switch so 2 stages of boost. Setup was really simple, 83mm gsr, stock head with springs and retainers, gsr tranny with lsd, pt67 turbo and 3'' thermal exhaust, tuned on crome @ 25psi shifting at 9500rpm.
It really sucked shifting to fifth as the car didn't pull the same.
Sometimes simple setups can work really well.
And you're right, the car used to trap 142mph on 24's.

Thanks for the info i appreciate it. Yes that guy apparently can drive very well, i love that hatch. Im in the process of redoing my turbo setup and will be trapping in the mid 130's and im just trying to figure out a way to do it without running 24.5's if i dont have to. No big deal if i do i just like the way the 22's perform.
