Loud creaking noises coming from rear suspension
My rear suspension is so damn loud and annoying, basically everytime it moves there's tons of creaking noises,a buddy told me it's because my Omni slip over coils didnt come with these little centering rings(THE SILVER RINGS ON THE BOTTOM OF THIS PIC!!!)

..now i've emailed Omni and they didnt give a rat's *** and didnt even respond,do I HAVE to get that part so the creaking goes away?i've heard of putting lithium grease between the top of the springs and the oem rubber tophats, can i do that?

Well, I'll take a wild guess and assume you own a civic. Civics and integras have a slightly flawed rear suspension desgin. The trailing arm bushings are prone to cracking and will separate allowing unwanted movment & noise. My CRX's TA bushings are both completely torn, and the rear end of that thing makes all kinds of obnoxious noises. I suggest checking those out before you go dropping money on anything else...

I dont think it's the TA bushings but the springs it self moving around that's creating that noise, now is it safe to put some lithium grease on the top of the springs?

If you haven't checked those bushings yet, I strongly suggest you go out & look first. You shouldn't even have to lift the car. Just look in the wheel-well closest to front of the car (at the bottom). The TA bushing is plainly visible..
It's a bit more work to grease the springs (unless they come loose when the suspension droops), but it certainly won't hurt anything. Please post your results for us...

i have had omni power sleeves on two of my cars and have never had those rings on them and they do not creak. The two cars were a civic and integra so they are both the same. It is not the springs because when you put your car down your spring gets compressed and can not move just make sure that your springs seat correctly when lowering the car after jacking it.
Just that it pops into place and doesnt get caught on the lip that goes around where it should seat. They're probably seating fine...i've never had a problem with my ebay coilover not popping into place like they should.
Sound like trailing arm bushings to me too. I need to replace mine, they're cracked to hell...

For them to be seated properly, the spring must go up inside the upper mount. It has a lip that keeps the spring inside so it won't move around. I've had my ground control's get caught on the lip before, so the ride height was all messed up. I actually had one pop back into place as I backed out of the driveway. Kinda scary...
Hell no!
The OEM bushings are only about $25 each (part #52385-S21-003), and a shop should charge you about $10 each to press the old ones in & out for you (if you bring them the bare trailing arms)...
Before you get too into it, you should read "this" article with general info about the TA bushing, as well as "this" H-T write-up about "doing it yourself" (special tool needed). They have lots of great information...
Great reading in both links. Feel free to ask any questions about the install (in this thread of course)...
