Default Bodywork question...

I also posted in the Welding/Fabrication section to see what answers i can come up with.

I own a 90 CRX SI and i want to swap over my USDM front end for a JDM siR front...

here is my question though, Is it possible to swap the USDM CRX front onto an 88 civic sedan? (anything is possible with money... but realistically, how hard is it?)

I'd like to use the hood too.... (Metal JDM ZC hood)
I really like the USDM CRX front bumper better than the civic front, so i'd like to use that too.

I do understand that the hoods are different sizes and the fenders arent an exact match either... so i'd like to cut portions of the CRX fenders out, and add the civic fenders.

most likely going to swap out the D15 from the sedan and drop in my supercharged D16a6 into the sedan..... have a fun little daily driver/project.

i got even bigger plans for my CRX.

If its too much of a pain....

I know i have seen the wingswest/mugen style kits installed on sedans... what does it take to do the complete kit? front and rear bumper should be straight forward, if i were to buy two sets of side skirts and door caps, would i have enough material to do the sides too?

just run the 88 us bumper with oem lip.

the hardest thing to adapt the crx stuff on is the fact the stock sedan has that filler piece

The hood is not wider, it's just the fenders flare a little.

Definitely possible. As you stated above, anything is possible with enough money. Hell, I bet you could even weld an R34 front on there with enough money hahaha .

Anyways, I have no idea what you need to do to get it to fit, but if people can stick teg' and EK front ends onto CRX's, you should be able to fit a same generation JDM/USDM Rex' front end on there no problem. Good luck!

Don't quote me on this, but I think I read about a guy doing this on h/t about a year ago. I think the plan was to cut the fenders right where the molding is. Weld them together using the top from the CRX and the bottom from the sedan. I THINK it fits if you do that.

Once again, don't be mad at me if this doesn't work. Do you research first, but i'm pretty sure that's the way to make it fit.

was saving for a stroker D16a6...

i have around $8,000 to spend on a motor and the endyn supercharger (much better than the jackson i have now)...but, now that im buying a beater, (88 civic sedan) i figured i'd tune the stock D16a6 with the JRSC at 8-10 PSI and swap it into the beater.

with the money i have saved, Im shopping around for a k20R for the CRX.

Sounds like a lot of work for something that only a honda freak would notice. Good luck with it though.
