brake light problem??
why do people on this website continually post **** that DOESNT HELP. not tryin to be an ******* but im needin to get this fixed by in the mornin so i can get to work. this is my daily driver not just some project car i got.
replace the switch then.
unless you think it isnt the switch, in which case you would need to provide information on why you think it is not. if the rear half of your car was missing, and didnt tell us that, we would just say replace the switch. we would not say "hey you need a new rear half of car".
the switch is plastic and plastic breaks sometimes when it is used repeatedly over 15 years. and since it only cost like $10 it may save you some money to replace it and find out that was what was broken.

your going to need a multimeter.
there are two wires on the brake switch.
I believe they are white/green and green/white.
The white/green wire should read 12 volts
The green/white wire should only read voltage when the pedal is pressed
or when the pedal is depressed. One of the two, but not both.
If you get voltage when the pedal is out and when the pedal is in, then you need to replace the brake switch
