!!!Help please!!! ???Ignition problem???
I need help
I was driving to work today ~5 miles and the power cut out on me (no battery light). I took my foot off the gas and the car stalled, I popped the clutch (~30mph)and it started again but still no power. I then coasted to a stop. I tried to start it again, it cranked over normal (ruled out alternator, battery) but wouldn't start.
I checked the rotor and it was still attached (rule out rotor).
about 10 1/2 hours later I went to check on it, I started it and it ran fine
. I got ~7 miles and it cut out again...
One note - I have a aftermarket Tach. and last night for the first time it was acting up in the on position but not started, it was floating from 7k to 10k and today when I tried to start the car the tach was reading 10k. I don't know if its related but I think it is some how

sounds like distributor problems.
either ignition coil or ignitor. i can never tell which one does what or which one needs replacing over the other. ive had to replace both, on separate occasions.
honestly, just getting a new, or known good used distributor complete is your best bet to getting off and running. shouldnt be like $150 from distributor king from what i remember. check. unless you have spare ignitor or ignition coil to tool around with.

Yeah the hard truth always hurts, advance wants $200 for a remanufactured distributor I'll have to chek out this distributor king.

looks like they raised their price. oh well.
i bought my spare distributor off ebay. has been working great. troll around there if you can wait.
