why does the needle fluctuate up and down (1500rpm, 900rpm) during idle & neutral. hit me up, thanks

chk for a vacc leak, make sure you have planty of coolant, chk to make sure adjuster screw at throttle body is not all the way out,

 

My 96 has done this from time to time as well. Usually depends on the air temperature. Does it all the time in the winter but as soon as it's above freezing it stops.

 

mine did this as well.

things i did/replaced

pcv valve and hose (hose on mine was collapsed)

cleaned IACV- take off the car, spray carb cleaner in it until its clean

adjusted FITV- take off cap, screw the thermowax plunger down until its snug.

fixed the problem for me


take in mind this is on a 93, but the concept is the same
