New To Honda-tech...help on painting
i know this should go in another forum but right now with my trial on here i think this is the best i can do so i'm wondering what kind of spray gun i need to get....i know a HVLP and Gravity Feed, but should I get one for primer, and another for base coats and clear? should they be High Output, Low Volume, General Use, or what? thanks alot
you'll need two different guns.
one gun for heavy primer (this gun has a bigger tip)
one gun for paint/clear coat (smaller tip)
make sure you clean em really good after you're done. i picked both up from an auto parts store (the mix paint too) for like $100

No that's true you max the use of the paint with gravity fed, they are also just more comfortable to use IMO. About the compressor, you need something that can support about 100psi (not that you'll be going that high) continuous for a good amount of time. What you need to get you by would be in the $200 range.

Get an HVLP, as stated earlier less waste. Go to http://www.eastwoodco.com/ look at some DeVilbliss guns, they work pretty good for the money. They have a 2 gun pack for primer and base/clear. You do need different guns b/c of the tip size. As far as compressors, if you can, ideally you'll want atleast a 33gal tank with a 5 or 6 hp motor. You need to maintain a certain cfm for the gun to spray properly. Too little pressure and you'll get a orange peel look. Also you'll want hook up an air dryer to your compressor to keep moisture out of the paint.
