Uh oh! What's wrong now?
Why is my car blowing Alternator/VSS fuses?
I've checked the T-stat ground and I've also checked the wires on my VSS! What's the deally yo??!?!!?!?
Please bump if you read this!
PS: It's a '99 Civic coupe with a GReddy turbo kit outfitted Y8!

I had this problem on my b18c DX and it turned out to be a part of the harness that rubbed through a bracket under the intake manifold. I think it was a brown wire.
Kicked my *** for days!
Ive heard of it happening on another 96+ too...

i just went through this with my buddys car. all you have to do is get under the car and look at the harnesses around the intake manifold bracket. there will be a few wires that have rubbed through. just fix them and tape/solder them up and you will be good to go

well my friends car would run decent until he had to turn the lights on...then thats when all the major problems arrived...so i guess just drive it during the day and use your best judgement

Exactly what happened to mine
You can drive it OK for a few days if you carry a bunch of spare fuses around and stick a new one in everytime you start the car

Thanks to everyone who helped! I figured out what the problem was. When I was installing the GReddy turbo kit, I had to extend my O2 sensor to the front of the engine bay from back next to the cat. In doing so I routed the wiring up the back side of the motor and through the channel in the valve cover and down to the O2 sensor thinking this would keep it from getting hung on anything. This wasn't the case. When I was going down the interstate the other day when everything started going crazy, apperantly my wiring got caught up in the axle. Needless to say, it ripped the harness side of the O2 sensor up and caused the four wires to all touch, thus shorting out the fuse. Oh well. I'll do a better job this time when I rewire it!
