hey i been switching battery to battery all that needed to be jumper cable cuz im lazy ( buyin new battery tomo ) but i guess it was too late we were at mcdonald drive thru then my car died, then after a while jumper cables wouldnt work, even with low battery it should work, it makes a clickin sound wen i try to start it, is it my ALTERNATOR? let me know quick. thanks

 

switching batteries probably wore out your alternator. all your battery does is start your car. let the cables sit on the battery for a while before you start your car. might work

 

check for corroded terminals. that could cause a no start

 

Jumper cables will not always start a car right away. Most of the time if you let it sit with the other car idle charging the dead car, say 5-10min, it should start. However I have had occassions where it was so cold out that no amount of charging the battery would work. Sometimes a battery just gives up. Just get your new battery like you plan.

 

alright turned out it was the battery, but man this morning when i got to mcdonalds, my car was scratched, and also a HUGE *** dent on the driver seat wtf!! hate it when people vandalize my car.
