I hate when people ask questions but arent descriptive. So I mangled my pics in order give the best idea possible.

Anyway, Since I got the car..i've always wondered why the hell this was disconnected and what it was/does. When I got the car it had the sri that it has now, and I know that the valve cover breather hose is supposed to go into the bung on the intake arm...I just havent gotten around to tossin out that shitty breather filter.

So the intake is the reason this is probably not connected/cut. I didn't see anything above or around the black cut hose that it would have plugged into. If it helps, its a 99 hatch with the insanely powerful D16y7.

I know the paint sucks...but I had to be descriptive.

the tube next to the valve cover attaches to the valve cover. its where a breather filter would go if you had one. the other end of it near the air box goes to the airbox. basically, its the hose that routes and recycles the evaporated oil

i do believe so. do u have an aftermarket intake?

And yes, I have an aftermarket intake that is obviously installed incorrectly with the breather filter on the valve cover.
