EX --> CX intake
the CX (b7) tb doesnt face upward, the LX(y7) does. they can be swapped w/ little modification. the CX tb wont bolt to the ex manifold and vice versa however, and the TB is 45mm on the cx versus 56mm on the ex. hope all that helps.

Depends on which year CX and EX we're talking about here. I'm guessing yours is 2000

finally someone who knows what they are talking about. most certainly not all cx tb's face upward as everyone else was thinking of the ek's cx or lx better known as the y7. in his case he will most likely...or so i hope....stick with the ex tb as it will help preformance so he doesn't have to worry about swapping tb's at all. enjoy the ex intake manifold.... much better flow then that cx one....
but.... if your dealing with the y7 then the ex intake manifold will not work....

No it won't work.
Ignore the fact that one pic is a CAI and the other is SRI

The throttle body is not in the same position, the intake for the EX doesn't have enough of a bend to fit onto the Y7 without the hood being able to close

Incorrect, look at the throttle body position. Then look at the bend on the AEM intake on the Y8 and the bend on the intake on the Y7. There's no way the hood will close if you put that intake on there. Thats why they sell intakes for the CX/DX (D16Y7) different than the EX (D16Y8).

i agree with you skoundrelusa
, they think it will fit but it wont,, trust me i owned a 97 ek cx hb and the tb is way different stupid noobs

anyways..... it wasn't clear from the start of what exactly the op was trying to say or get at.... now that we all know he's talking about intakes. now yes it could fit nicely if he swapped intake manifolds from the y7 to the y8 and he would benifit by it too. the y8 intake manifold is a much better design, has high flow rate then even the z6 manifold and the tb is much bigger.... then he could use the y8 intake on the new y8 intake manifold that would be mated to the y7 block. more work and money but if he ever turbo'd he could gain from this modification. also if he could find a cheap y8 intake manifold it would be a nice little mod for a d series.

Exactly.... don't worry i had your back on that one. don't take his comment serious becuase everyone that has been on here for awhile knows that this kind of crap is to be expected here on H-T. it's a good knowledge resource but the forums are filled with useless bitching and name calling and little sissy cat fights between members and generally the argument is over who's head is bigger.....
but w/e we all learn to deal with it and move on.

i agree, but the best threads usually have wrong info as well as the correct, which teaches everyone, and NOBODY, knows everything about everything, and HT shouldnt be a source of positive info. hands on research or JOB experience should be.

d15b8 (92-95 cx) 8valve BEST MOTOR EV3R has a side mount tb like most civics, but the tb is TINY like the vx. I have 3 of these TBs. I have thought about getting one more and trying to make ITBs out of them, that's how small they are
