Default Smoke From Tailpipe Between Redline Shifts

So I was driving on the freeway and I redlined it in 2nd gear and some smoke blew out of the tailpipe between my shift from 2nd to 3rd (this is according to my friend who was driving behind me). I've seen newer cars (my friend's s2000 for example) do this but is it normal?

what color was the smoke? i dont think it could be fuel since ur cat is working, if not, you would of had thrown a CEL.

go check ur oil and radiator fluid. do both of them look fine? also, is there a white milky substance under ur oil cap?

I was reading on another post and somebody mentioned that it's normal if you're at wide-open throttle to get some black smoke coming from the tailpipe since it's running rich at the time.

Yup. Pretty much any car will have that happen. We don't get to see it much because not everyone else on the road drives the hell out of their cars..
