00 Si Radiator fan wont kick on any suggestions?
I have a stock si other than intake. I just put the motor in and for some reason the radiator fan wont kick on. I searched this problem before making this post and I've done what they have recommended in those post..
Checked the fuse under the dash and changed the relay under the hood- no fix.
I changed the switch on the thermostat housing . No fix
I changed the thermostat. no fix
I jumped the connector plug and the fan does kick over so I know the fan is good. What else should I check?

Doubtful, But I guess its worth a shot

When you jump the connector it kicks on the fan. and it did do that so I know it works.

Man this sucks.

Usually if your O2 sensors aren't in good order your fan won't kick on. Another common problem with this is, bad circulation and input. If your computer doesn't know your engine is running hot, it won't kick in at proper intervals. I'd check to see if you've got **** clogged in your intake.
A few simple questions.
Is it actually overheating? (It's a dumb question but I want to get it out of the way)
Is it fully bled?

We bled it by letting it run for about 20-30 minutes without the radiator cap on. It was overheating, smoking and bubbles were coming out like crazy until we wired up the fan after that the system went to normal. Since then the only time it had overheated was yesterday when we were messing with the thermostat now it runs like a champ. I went and registered it today and ran a few errands and it runs perfect but I know the fan isnt working. Which annoys me becuase when I sell it I want to sell it perfect not half ***.
You sure it was bubbling because it was boiling or bubbling because air bubbles were coming out? I have seen people confuse the two before.
Final check, before you park the car let it idle for a while. If it doesn't over heat you are laughing.

I believe it was bubbling becuase it was overheating (boiling) due to the fan not coming on. as soon as we hooked the fan up the smoke went away and the bubbles went away and the temp went to normal. We topped off the radiator and the car runs fine and doesnt overheat even when its idling. BUT the fan doesnt come on and I want that problem fixed..

If it is not overheating then there is no reason for the fan to come on. The fan is only used for when the car is at a stand still but not necessarily if the car is at a stand still the fan will engage. If you car is at a stand still and the temp guage is roughly the same spot it would be on the highway then you are fine. If however you are at a standstill and the temperature guage is climbing a considerable amount but the fan is not kicking in then you do have a problem. (This is of course all with the engine having been run up and brought to operating temp)
We roughly on the same page?

I had the same problem and a trick to know if the fan is working is to turn on the AC if both the AC fan and the radiator fan work, your good. If the AC fan turn on and the radiator fan doesnt ( like me) then the only option is to wire the fan to a switch.
I hope someone knows how to fix this problem.
