Default ls-vtec need help

hi i'm going to project an ls-vtec motor but i want to know will the motor last or not or it just depend on how you treat it. causes alot of people says ls-vtec dont last long and it leaks oil like hell. also they say that the ls block is not recommended to rev high,so for it to last long they say that the crankshaft needs to be cut and reblanced and micropolished for it to go on high rpm and last longer.
but im using a stock ls block on a b16 head is it going to be relieable good for everyday driving answer will be apperiate. thanks

most of your answers are hard to answer. ls-vtec can be reliable, alot of them are boosted and still reliable. oil leak?? not sure why they would be worse, and as for how well they handle about depends on the kind of abuse, and the build.
