well I just picked up a 98 ex coupe, and the first thing I have found on it is when I push the lock button, the passenger side will lock and unlock but the driver side door wont, is that normal or do i need to replace the lock motor?

 

Look for some loose connections. It happens now on then after a while.

You can only lock it with the key from the outside or using the keyless entry (if you have it). I guess it's so you can't lock your keys in the car.

 

I was just wondering cause even with the door completely shut it wont do it, but im gonna get an alarm and keyless anyways

 

You have to pull the handle then push the lock button.

That's only when the door is open. With the door closed, the lock switch should function normally.

Something is likely wrong with the lock actuator.

 

Sorry wasn't specified opened or closed. Sometimes the littlest problems are over looked!

 

thats what i needed to know, guess ill hit up hondaautomotiveparts.com and grab an actuator, i guess the driver side would be the left side, shouldnt be more than 50 bucks

My car does the same thing. I can lock both sides with the lock buttonif the door is closed, which is retarded since you cant get out without unlockign the door . I have to lock the driver side manually with my key so I dont have keyless or an alarm or anything
