Default Please Help (door lock)...

yes i searched... 98 ex.. power locks.. door wont physically lock (drivers side) it wont lock with the key.. it wont lock with the remote.. there is an extreme amount of resistance against the key.. PLEASE help.. thanks.. i just need to be able to lock it with the key..

mine also. i have to pull handle from inside and while i pull it out i have to hit the lock lever.

that is normal. What is puzzling is that the OP said it wont even lock with the key. I wouldnt know what to suggest without seeing it and taking it apart.

mine will not work with key either. like i said thats the only way i can lock my dors

ahhh ok gotcha. Not sure if this will help any but if you pull the handle while you lock with the key does that work?

ok.. i think that the control module is makign noise when i try to lock it with the remote.. but the actuator is not.. how likely is it that the actuator is messed up and stuck in the unlock position.. im thinking this MIGHT be the case because that would mean that when i try to lock it its pushing against the siezed up actuator..?

and while we are on the subject anyone who can tell me how to just remove the actuator the easiest way would be GREATLY appreciated.. ANY insight on this WHOLE issue is really appreciated..

THATS NORMAL its so you dont bump the lock by mistake oly locks when you really want to lock it

is it stock or aftermarket ? unclip the lock at the doll lock part then try the key ?

my key would not physically turn in the lock.. i figured out why.. the actuator was/is broken... i assume that it is broken in the unlock position..and stuck that way which is maybe why it would not let me turn the key.. i removed it with a little force.. im not sure how it mounts in there.. instructions for replacing this would be very helpfull...
