b16 auto swap?
So I have an individual who wants me to do an auto swap on a hatch, never done an auto swap and have a few concerns. 1. what tranny should I source out. 2. will the auto tranny line up with an aftermarket mount like hasport? If anyone has done this type of swap before, any answers to these or any other potential problems would be great. Also refrain from any posts to the effect of “…why would you do auto…”, that would be both not helpful and not necessary.
Thought about an ls tranny, however will it fit? what about shifting? It will probably shift really low. I have heard that in japan you could get one with both a b16 and in auto. Since that tranny was built for the b16 it might shift at higher rpm or at least at more optimal points. But i dont want to order it if it is not going to fit. any one know if it does? As for the mounts, are you going to use custom mounts, or just modify their placement?
the shift points are controlled by the ecu (i think). and some ecu's even have a seperate little box just to control the automatic stuff. you could prolly get it shipped to change the shift points...

There are also the rare auto GSR tranny in japan.
we are planning on calling level 10 and doing some work so the case it self won't really matter much.

thanks for the info, one more question, any idea if there will be any problems mating a 96+ tranny. that is, there is no difference like the cable/hydro manual trannys? will the tranny bolt on?
