how to make a (one piece) ek engine harness work in a eg chasis???
any achieves on this?? im pretty sure u pro race guys out there's done this before.....one piece ek (DX) engine harness into a race EG chasis.......please share some knowledge with us......tell us exactly what we need to make a motor start.......
is the cabin part of the harness still there? whoever told you that wasn't the brightest person then.... you would be alot better off getting the right harness...
you are using this for race app true! its actually the best way to do it without using the body harness! the plugs to the ecu are all there, just need to figure out what wires for ign and ground and power also starter!
well what im actually doing is hooking up switches to the starter, radiator fan, fuel pump ect.....but will the ecu have power to operate the injectors by just hooking up the harness to it? or im gonna have to find some kind of power to the ecu to make it work? if so, how do i do that??? that's my biggest concern right now.......i kno i could get fuel running through the fuel lines and stuff but i dont kno how to make the ecu operate to open up the injectors......

you will need a wiring diagram for each vehicle to see which wire does what.
on the ek harness., the plug that comes off by the ecu(green color one) there is powers/grounds/ clutch switch/brake switch, in there which you will simply need to tap into your harness. on a harness i made over the past summer. i just cut the green plug off and use some old plug i had layin around, which has enough pins for what i needed. (14 pin locations) i also make the harness only go through the passenger side, not the driver side. the wires on the driver side of the engine bay are mostly all for your guage cluster.

Locash Racing offers a race harness using this same method. Make you can purchase one from him.

well im not running a cluster in the car....its just tachmeter, oil pressure gauge,air/fuel gauge, water temp gauge, oil temp gauge......plus i dont think i'll need brake lights to work anyways right??? and im hooking a switch to the starter so i wouldn't need to step on the clutch to start the car......what i need to kno is that, will the ecu work by just hooking up the harness from the motor, and battery to the ecu ??? i remember last time we did my friends car we couldn't start the car because theres was no power to the ecu, and it didn't operate the injectors to open up.......we got the motor to crank and the fuel pump sending fuel to the rail but it didn't get through the injectors because there was no power to ecu to operate the injectors.......
I am using a 00 SI harness for my drag car, you will have a 12v const. a switch 12v, a ground. and that will run your ecu.. and then you can hook up your guages, and starter and fuel pump as you like...

dont be stupid. you have to do some work also. we cant spell it out for you. (well i could but i dont feel like wasting my time) all you need to do is get a wiring diagram for your engine harness. and power/ground as needed. its really not hard to do.

i just experienced this last weekend. i seperated my engine harness from my interior harness awhile back but i had no motor to test it on till last weekend. well 30 hours later my motor runs. it was easy fixes just so time consumin to find the problems. countless hours spent in the helms etc etc. so far so good though.
