Okay, I was just trying to do a basic tune up, and here's the problem:
when I stuck my socket down into the hole to get the spark plug out, there was a decent amount of oikl in there. What is the best way of getting that out prior to removing the spark plug?
I have been sticking the socket in and wiping off what I can get out that way, but there has got to be something easier! Please advise.
thanks

Oh yeah, I have already got a new valve cover gasket with spark plug seals. I'm gonna replace that after I do the spark plugs.
I just figured I'd say that before everyone recommends that too.

wet/dry shop vac, tape a tube to the end that will fit in the tubes
suck it all out or most of it out.
a little will go into the cylinders, but will burn right off when you start it up, so make sure you start it in a well ventilated area

The valve cover tube seals might solve the leak. But my guess is no. You may have to change the 0-rings under the rockerarm assembly. Be sure not to tighten the acorn nuts on the valve cover too tight 7 ftlbs. If you try to tighten them too much the studs will snap right off. Then you would have another problem. Good luck
PS: when you take the valve cover off, check to see if you can tell if oil has been entering the tube through the seal for the tube with oil in it. If the seal is dry all the way around, you probably have bad o-rings. Here's a link, if you need it.

Accord-Pro. I just read your thread. Not having to set the valves sounds like it would make the job easier.
But I don't get why would you have to remove the distributor?
