Default Backup / Reverse lights switch

I have a jdm b16a conversion but now my reverse lights won't go on when I go into gear!? Tested the switch on the tranny and then even replaced it but still no lights? Bulbs are all good to and they always worked before the new motor/tranny/ecu/harness. Could there be a problem in the wiring? I looked at the harness and everything is connected!? Inspection is this month too, what's my best bet here??

Replace the switch, old things do wear out.

I have one of those reverse switches that screws into the tranny if anyone wants one. It will require you to splice the wire b/c it has a plug from an ITR (it's from an ITR).

I am currently working on my friends 89 HF. He installed a JDM B16 into his and it was a wiring nightmare form the start. Mind you, we both have a degree from UTI and a few years in the field and are perfectly capable of handling any type of electrical diagnosis Seattle Jaguar/Land Rover tosses our way. First, we have crank no start and all the lights on the dash fucked up. I guess the PLace Racing harness he was using had a short to ground somewhere internally. We tear it out, install the d15 harness that came w/ the car. PGMFI finally comes online and we get her started. We systematically fix all the fault codes, get it running ok, but the GODDAMN problem is whenever we put it into reverse, CEL code 6 kicks in. We bypassed the red yellow wire through the harness the provides 5v from the ECM to the ECT sensor. Still no luck. Damn CEL. Disconnect the backup switch, problem solved, but wait! No VTEC. WTF? Found ECU to be for an auto trans, converted to manual by moving jumpers on ECM board. Vehicle runs awsome w/ the CEL on, as soon as we clear the code. Car bogs intermittently unless the TPS is at full throttle. We have the correct ECU a PR3. The bogging seems to be a common problem for this swap. My friend thats a tech at Honda says he was having the exact same problem on his buddies car and the CEL 6 coming on when going into reverse. He checked the ETM and found you have to swap two wires in the bulkhead connector of the engine harness To cure the CEL and the bogging. I found a thread on PGMFI.org about this but no real fix and of course the bastard can't remember which wires so I'm on my own. Anyone else having this problem?

If you problem is in fact the switch, then yes, this should solve your problem.

what model crx do all you guys have? i overheard about a year ago that the "hf" models sometimes have problems with getting the reverse lights to work after swapping. Idk if it's true or not... just remembered i heard it after reading this thread.

when you are swapping a b series into an Hf. You have to disable the reverse lights. The Ecu and the rewiring needed for the Oil pressure, vtec selenoid, and the KS take up the eld and the reverse light pin. So we, us HF owners, loose the reverse lights, and the green shift light on our dash b/c of the swap.
If you can find a way to keep it all let me know...

On the HF i think it's c10 is the reverse lights.

Check this site out they have the whole pinout for the b-series "what goes where" and what should have been there before your swap. Hope this helps man.
