Default AEM Short Ram intake installation

Hi, just got my intake today. When I look at the instruction, it says I have to drain out some coolant before I start the installation. Is it necessary? I did search the forum, and found that the job should be easy( take out the stock air box and tube and bolt on the new one). Is there anything especially I need to look out for, such as sensor or vaccum hose? The last question is kinda stupid, i see some thing that clamp on the stock air tube with the motor. Just wonder how to remove that (squeeze, twist, or just open it)? Thanks for all helps, and please forgive me if I am saying anything stupid.

just take off the stock intake, and slap the new one in place, there should be brackets to hold the new intake in the original oem spot, aem intakes are usuaully very accurate, i know that for 90-93 models there is two lines you have to connect, a vacuum line that runs from the intake manifold which will plug into the very top nozzle, and the second tube which runs into the valve cover which plugs into the bigger bottom nozzle, hope that helps

loosen the jubliclip from the TB, then remove stock air box nuts and bolts, remove coolent tube from TB - pull the vlavecover tube then pull the whole thing out.

now install the affter market intake connect the coolent and valvecover tubes, remove the bat neg.side cable reset your ECU

done....
if you don't know how to do this then don't do anything

i just figured mine out -.- sorry if im late. but um

they tell you to drain your coolent because the hose that connects to your TB and the hose that connects to your intake manifold is weld'd togethor with your coolent water hose or w/e they gave you an extra hose so that you can remove the coolent hose and relpace it so that you dont have this huge chunk with 3 hose on it when you only need 1. i didnt mess with that i just unhooked the 2 hose and used the hose they gave for the TB. and left the big weld'd hoses dangling. if that didnt make any sence...mybad lol
