Need help with my external fuel system on an 88si
I just got my 12 gallong RCI fuel cell in and now I need to figure out how to run my fuel system so I have a few questions.
1.) I want to get a sender for the fuel cell but can I even hook it up to any wiring so the fuel gauge on my gauge cluster works?
2.) The fuel cell has a sump with 2 -8AN fittings and I was wondering if I should run both lines to a Y fitting or just 1 line off the fuel cell the whole way?
3.) Starting at the fuel cell does it go filter, pump, fuel rail?
Thanks for any help

You can use the wiring in the car but I doubt that you can make the aftermarket sender work with the Honda gauge in the cluster. get a sender and gauge kit, that way you are sure that you'll get them to work.

AN-8 is way too big for what you need. You can use AN-6 or even AN-4 depending on how much HP/fuel your engine needs. I would say AN-6 is just fine. You will need 1 supply and 1 return hose. You want both to come out from the sump. that way the return hose is putting fuel back near the pick up. Separate the pick up and return by a couple of inches.

If you are using an external pump, Do Fuel cell - pump - filter - fuel rail.
Make sure to use a strainer sock at the pick up inside the fuel cell.

Thanks for the reply maxbore. As far as the return fuel line goes I'm assuming it would come out the opposite end of the fuel rail as the inlet and then what go straight back to the fuel cell? Or should I get a fuel pressure regulator and have it go to that and then to the fuel cell? I already have a B&M but it goes on the fuel rail itsself. Hmm if anybody knows how to hook up the sender so the gauge cluster reads the gas lmk or else I'll just get an aftermarket gas gauge cluster.
What you are doing is duplicating the stock fuel system. You have to use a FPR either stock or aftermarket. This is the order.
1 fuel cell
2 hose to pump
3 pump
4 hose to filter
5 filter
6 hose to fuel rail
7 fuel rail
8 FPR
9 hose to tank
1 fuel cell
2 hose to pump
3 pump
4 hose to filter
5 filter
6 hose to fuel rail
7 fuel rail
8 FPR
9 hose to tank
Alright so now that I have that sorted out how do I get my gauge cluster to work with an aftermarket sender?
