i'm installin a oil guage it's mechanical, and i'm wondering where does it go on the block?? all i got is a 1/8 bstp end and don't know where to put it? lol any help or pics to help!

 

Install a T fitting from the oil sending unit orfice (Back of the block). Put the stock OP sending unit in one end of the T fitting and run a pressure line from the other end of the T fitting to the gauge. I'll try to post pics of mine later.

 

Get a tunertoys oil fitting. Probably one of the easiest ways to do it.
Search for "tunertoys" either here or on google.
Once you see it, it's self explanatory.
Remove stock sensor, screw in fitting, screw in stock sensor to fitting, screw in fitting from aftermarket gauge, DONE.

 

i have read more than twice on here that you should not put the t on the block. tou should run a line to the firewall, t it there. everything hanging on the firewall.

 

what i did was i hooked it up to the side of my sandwich plate and it work perfect..a sandwich plate goes between your block and your oil filter..they are like 50-100 bux..go get one!

Tee fitting on the block is bad. Tunertoys fitting on the block is good.
Reason being, the tuner toys fitting is made of steel.
The regular tees you get at a hardware store are bad for two reasons.
One, it's made of soft brass and COULD break off eventually from the motor's vibration.
And two, the threads are wrong.
