Default Will this ecu work??

I have a 99 civic si and im doing a motor swap! Im swapping it to a 2000 gsr motor...i was wondering will my ecu for the civic si work on the gsr?

vtec will be higher up in the rev range from the 4400. no control of iab's.
conservative timing compared to gsr maps on high cam.

The only thing good about the si ecu is that it doesn't have butterflys so you can get a better flow. But you will also need a better intake manifold. Correct me if i'm wrong

so the b16a2 ecu will make the gsr motor hit vtec later than it would with the gsr ecu?

you could chip the ECU w/ uberdata or something along those lines. the only thing you would be lacking is IAB control because i'm pretty sure the si ECU does not have an IAB output. for more info on uberdata, check out this site:

thanx...so basically vtech wont hit early as it would do for a b18c1 ecu...am i correct?

it's VTEC.

the B16 ECU will run the GSR leaner than it should be run.
It will set VTEC point higher than the GSR wants it.
it will not open the secondary intake runner.

Pick up a P72, run the extra wire and enjoy the C1.

the 99 si ecu is obd2, you cant' chip it. i wouldn't run it...do what the guy above me says

to run boost properly you need to convert to OBD1 and tune it.
