When putting a type r oil pump on an LS...
Do I need to get a type r oil strainer/pickup? Is there anything else I should get besides the pump assembly?

dumb question here!...hey how do you know if you got a bad oil pump? because mine seems to stop pumping but only at certain times. could the pump be the problem or... something else, any ideas?
