b16 idle problem
i have a94 eg civic vti that wont idle properly it purges from 400 to 1100 rpm when idleing but drives fine but sometimes it idles fine but if you rev it it just purges again anyone any ideas thanks
it is located on the bottom of the throttle body. It will have a cover plate with 2 screws. take that plate off, and you'll see a plastic circle piece with a dome in the center. make sure tha piece is screwed all the way in. problem fixed.

Here it is for a GSR.. it looks the same way except for the intake mainfold design.

My mate a problem with his ECU on his delsol which caused the car to hunt for the revs. Have you have any warning lights recently so you gan grab a code? Might be worth doing a code check to see if it throws up anything
the iacv is on the back of the intake mani. it has two bolts holding it on and has two coolant lines, plus a electrical plug. real simple to take off and on.
Do you have a/c?
If you do, let the car idle and turn the a/c on. Did the idle rpm drop at all in relation to the a/c turning on? If it did, then it is most definately the idle air control valve. The problem that it is having is that it cannot keep up with the needs of the engine any more. It is old, dirty and possibly shorted.

i have no warning lights and the engine management light has only ever came on when you turn the ignition on so i dont think it will throw any codes but how do i check to see if theres any
you said you changed it to a 2.2 throttle body. are you sure you put the body on correct with a new gasket. its a possiblity that you have a vacumm leak between the throttle body and the intake manifold
