B18A1 Auto to Manual... Halfshaft wont fit now???? Please help!!
I just recently did an Automatic to Manual conversion to my OBD-0 B18A1. So I got my Manual transmission assembled and installed and my engine was ready to be put back in my CRX. Now my halfshaft wont fit. I can slide the splines all the way in but when I try to bolt up the mounting plate, its almost like its bent, but not.
I know for sure that the halfshaft is not bent, but one of my questions is this: My halfshaft came on and off fine when my engine had the Automatic transmission on it. Are Automatic and Manual Halfshafts different, maybe? I dont know what else it could be. I unbolted the transmission and broke it away from the block to where the Halfshaft would fit, it bolted right up with some wiggling. But then the Transmission would not go back on.
I am at a complete loss right now being that this is my primary car. I have never ran in to this problem before so I dont even know what questions to ask. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. I will be available on here to answer any questions. Thanks in advance!

The manual shaft and the auto shaft are different. You need to go get a manual shaft to cokmplete your swap.

I just called Shucks and asked them how much a Halfshaft for my Manual Transmission and they said there was either ABS or Non-ABS, there wasnt any halfshafts classified under Manual or Automatic. I cant remember if my motor had ABS or Non-ABS, or if the Manua Transmission I just installed was from an ABS or Non-ABS car...
What should I do from here?
EDIT: Should I buy a ABS or Non-ABS Halfshaft? And why do you think that mine doesnt fit?

It's called an "Intermediate shaft", and Shucks thinks you are asking for a left hand axle, thats why they don't show any other difference. The manual and auto Intermediate shafts are different, get one from a junkyard or Honda, they are not available from most auto parts stores.

Looks like the D16 is goin back in for a few days being that I cant find a fu@@ing "intermediate shaft anywhere! The only person who had one was Acura for $370.00. F@@K that...
Thanks a bunch for the help tho, at least I narrowed down the problem.
